Kittiyarak Kittipong

Prof. Dr. Kittipong Kittiyarak received his first degree in Law from Chulalongkorn University. In 1983, he earned the LL.M from Cornell Law School before returning to Thailand, where he qualified the Thai bar. Few years later, his interest in legal study led a completion of his second LL.M from Harvard University. He also obtained J.S.D. from Stanford Law School afterward.

Prof. Dr.Kittipong started his career at the Office of Attorney, such as Public Prosecutor at the Office of Attorney General, Assistant Secretary to Attorney General. After several years of endeavor, he became the director of the Institute of Criminal Law at the Office of Attorney General. In 2005, he was a Director General at the Department of Probation. His highest position in Civil service was a permanent secretary of the Ministry of Justice.

In addition, he also serves as a Member of the National Reconciliation Committees (NRC), Board of directors at Transparency International Thailand, Advisory Council at Cornell Law School and a Member of Committee on Truth for Reconciliation Commission of Thailand (TRCT).

Prof. Dr.Kittipong, former Permanent Secretary for Justice, to become the new Executive Director of the Thailand Institute of Justice (TIJ), effective 25 February 2015. His highly knowledgeable and skilled with long experience working in criminal justice system can make TIJ an international organization and to become one of PNIs in two years.
